In the 2ème arrondissement, down an alleyway, there’s a tiny place called Mr. Zhao, a restaurant that specializes in BiangBiang noodles (thick) from Xi’an. It’s interior is very much Swedish design with touches of China. The food was yummy and bursting with spicy flavours. This contrast of simplicity and boldness will lure you in!
We ordered the mignon vert (cucumbers in rice vinegar – something my boyfriend missed from his days in China) as a starter. As for our main, it was an obvious choice of the BiangBiang noodles, one that was beef and one that was pork. They are very tasty and though the box may seem small, those noodles are huge and will fill you up quickly!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for those of you looking for not-your-typical Chinese food. The staff are very friendly and the area itself is one of my favourites. Your next stop for noodles should definitely by Mr. Zhao!
